Function description

Since 2003, KidsRights has been working with children to create a world in which children’s’ rights are guaranteed. Winning the International Children’s Peace Prize offers young people a platform to make their voice heard and gives them the opportunity to develop themselves as positive and resilient changemakers.

Worldwide, there are many talented young people with promising initiatives. KidsRights believes that all young people who want to make a difference must be recognized and supported in their incredible effort to improve children’s rights. However small these initiatives may seem, with the right support and possibilities the impact can be limitless.

Our goal is to connect these young changemakers from all over the world by the use of a virtual platform. Changemakers can go to this platform for inspiration, to get support for their initiatives, to promote these initiatives, and to join other projects. This is known as The KidsRights Changemakers Movement.

As visitors of the virtual platform speak various languages, we are looking for a volunteer that wants to translate English texts, a couple of hours a week, from the comfort of your own home!

Who are you?
• You have great knowledge of the English language.
• You are a native Spanish speaker/writer
• You have a feel for, and affinity with, writing
• You are willing and have time to translate English texts to Spanish for The KidsRights Changemakers Movement

What are you going to do?
Translating English texts to Spanish, for The KidsRights Changemakers Movement.

How much time will it take?
This will not be more than two texts a week, which means 2 to 3 hours a week.

What does KidsRights offer you?
The opportunity to reach a global audience with your texts, and to help KidsRights reach its goal: to motivate an increasing amount of young people to become a changemaker and to mobilize them around current children’s rights issues. A compensation for volunteering is available.

Children are changemakers. KidsRights works together with children on a world in which children's rights are guaranteed. KidsRights is convinced that children's rights are better respected when children decide for themselves about the issues that directly affect them and that they can take action themselves.

Core activity

KidsRights ensures that children are heard. Together with children, we ask attention worldwide for the strength of children as changemakers and for the Rights of the Child. In addition, KidsRights discovers young changemakers around the world: children who take action themselves to improve their position. Their initiatives are sometimes small, but by supporting children and letting them speak they can have a big impact. KidsRights offers them an international stage to share their message. They receive support to strengthen and expand their local actions. KidsRights also conducts research to give them and others insight into the status of children's rights worldwide.
