Vluchtelingen in de Knel is looking for an IT professional with knowledge of system management as an assistant for our permanent system administrator.
Who are we?
Refugees in the Knel offers protection to refugees who have been rejected and are therefore excluded from provisions.
We work on the principle that every person is worthy a decent life. That is why we are committed to ensuring that these people have access to basic services and that we offer them intensive social and legal guidance.
Who are you?
You are interested in helping refugees and want to contribute to their human dignity.
You want to work together in our IT team in the field of system management. You are social and you can communicate effectively with colleagues with different levels of technical knowledge.
What are you doing?
When you have learned how the system management of our foundation works, Then you will keep in regular contact with the permanent manager (also a volunteer function) to coordinate changes and developments. I
With agreement with the permanent manager you perform the necessary tasks that needs to be done .
We hope you can contribute to the development, expansion or replacement of the IT environment.
How much time does this require of you?
Intense introduction where you learn. Then it’s a “stand by” position and you step in when necessary. During 3 to 4 weeks a year and you are ready to come when permanent manager can´t be present.
If the permanent manager unexpectedly fail for a longer period of time, we will discuss what options you have to take over tasks in consultation. The fixed system administrator is present at the office for approximately 1 day/week

The Vluchtelingen in de Knel (refugees stuck) foundation is a non-profit organization committing itself to defend basic rights of (rejected) refugees, convinced that every human being has a right to exist. The goal is achieved through influencing government policy with regard to (rejected) refugees and their rights.
Helping as many (rejected) refugees o reach future perspective with all available resources and make their basic rights count. Important to achieve this goal is contribute to public awareness of the situation of (rejected) refugees in the Netherlands.
